It’s a cool thing to be part of Monsanto’s blogging team. And it’s because I’m one of 24 million people in the United States whose job depends upon farmers.
I’m the team lead for what we call Online Strategy & Communications, one of the team in Corporate Marketing & Communications. My team is responsible for the corporate web site, http://www.monsanto.com/, online corporate video, helping support company web sites in other parts of the world – and writing stories.
A little background on me: I received my B.A. from LSU, and a Masters from Washington University in St. Louis. I’m married, with two grown sons, a daughter-in-law, a grandbaby to be next spring, and a great dog. I read a lot and have a passion for biking (of the non-motorized variety). One weekend this past summer, I biked most of the Katy Trail in Missouri, and was amazed at pedaling mile after mile after mile next to corn and soybean fields. In my off-time, I help edit an online poetry journal.
Specifically, I’ll be blogging about how Monsanto people help farmers succeed. We do it in an extraordinary number of ways, and it’s a privilege for me to help tell those stories.
